Yes. The plugin renders the BuddyPress activity post form and BuddyPress handles the posting, so you need BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform active with the Activity component enabled. If neither is active, the plugin deactivates itself and explains why.

Two ways, and they render the same form: Block: edit a page in the block editor and add the "Post From Anywhere" block. You will find it under Widgets, and it supports wide and full alignment plus margin and padding. Shortcode: add [bppfa_postform] to a page, post, widget, or theme template. Use whichever fits the editor you are working in. The block and the shortcode run through the same renderer, so the front-end output is identical.

No. The [bppfa_postform] shortcode takes no parameters. It renders the composer as-is, and any attribute you pass is ignored.

Yes. When the Groups component is active, the composer includes a "post in" selector so a member can share to their own profile or to one of their groups. It lists up to 100 of the groups the member belongs to.

Yes. The form is responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops.

The plugin's CSS and JavaScript load only where they are needed: on pages that use the block or the shortcode, and on BuddyPress activity pages. Other pages load nothing from this plugin.

Yes. The form follows your theme's styling, and it ships explicit dark mode for BuddyX 5.1+, BuddyX Pro, and Reign 8+. To target the form in your own CSS, note that it uses the native BuddyPress element IDs (#whats-new-form, #whats-new, #aw-whats-new-submit, #whats-new-options, #whats-new-post-in) scoped inside the plugin's #bppfa-buddypress wrapper. Always scope your rules under #bppfa-buddypress so you do not also restyle the native BuddyPress activity page, which uses the same IDs. The plugin's own classes are .bppfa-spinner, .bppfa-feedback-message, and the .bppfa-notice classes.

The plugin shows a short notice in place of the form. It does the same when BuddyPress or BuddyBoss is inactive, when the Activity component is turned off, and when the member does not have permission to post, so you always know why the form is not there.
