No. CataLord is an add-on that provides an alternative product management interface. WooCommerce remains your core e-commerce engine. All product data is stored in standard WooCommerce format - nothing proprietary.
Yes. CataLord reads and writes standard WooCommerce product data. Your existing products, variations, attributes, and categories will all appear immediately. You can switch between CataLord and the default editor at any time.
Yes. CataLord includes a complete variant management system. Type attribute names and values as chips, and it generates all combinations automatically. You can edit any chip inline, and the system detects orphaned variations when attributes are deleted.
The AI description generator and image editor require a Google Gemini API key, which you can obtain for free. These features are optional - everything else works without any API key.
Yes. CataLord fully supports right-to-left languages including Hebrew, with proper layout mirroring, translated UI, and full non-Latin character support throughout.
Absolutely. CataLord doesn't disable or modify the default editor. You can use whichever interface you prefer for any given task.
The Free tier is fully functional for day-to-day product management at any catalog size: full single-product editor, the full Variant Builder, extended Quick Edit (brand / category / tags inline), upsells & cross-sells, and uncapped bulk actions / bulk edit / CSV export. Pro unlocks advanced paradigms that the Free tier intentionally doesn't try to be: Sheet Mode (spreadsheet-style editing, including adding new products as rows), CSV Import wizard, AI Product Enrichment, AI image editing, SEO field editing, ACF write support, Attribute Management, paste an image from the clipboard or an image address, integrations (Price Per Unit Pro, Quantity Manager), and more. CataLord focuses on the product management workflows that matter most to typical store managers. A small number of advanced fields and one product type (Grouped) aren't (yet) in our editor. For those, you can use the standard WooCommerce editor alongside CataLord - your data stays in standard WooCommerce format either way. See "What CataLord Doesn't Cover (Yet)" for the current list. We're actively adding missing fields.
CataLord's AI features use your own Google Gemini API key (BYOK - bring your own key). Google provides a generous free tier for Gemini. We don't charge for AI usage and we don't proxy your data - the plugin calls Google's API directly from your site.
Yes for everything users interact with directly - page loads, saves, imports, AI calls. The only thing that depends on WP-Cron is a small daily cleanup task that removes leftover temporary CSV files from the uploads folder. If your host has set DISABLE_WP_CRON and you have not configured a system cron to call wp-cron.php, you can either run wp cron event run catalord_daily_cleanup once a day via WP-CLI, or simply ignore it - the temp files are small and harmless.
