Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Eventrise

Sign in to your Eventrise organizer dashboard. The slug is the part of your organization's URL after eventrise.com/. Your organization ID works too.
Eventrise checkout can be embedded on any site, so there's nothing to allow-list. Check your browser console for a frame-ancestors Content Security Policy error, and make sure the event slug is right and the event is published. Your site's origin is still shown under Settings → Eventrise → Advanced with a Copy button, in case Eventrise adds an embed allow-list later.
No. The plugin embeds Eventrise's hosted checkout in an iframe, and Eventrise handles all payments (through Stripe). The plugin never sees card details.
Yes. Turn off Auto-link conversion in Settings → Eventrise. You can also opt out a single link with the data-eventrise-no-modal attribute or target="_blank".
Deactivating keeps your settings. Deleting the plugin (in Plugins → Delete) removes them, by design.
Yes. With Elementor active (the free version is enough), open the widget panel and find the Eventrise category: Eventrise Buy Tickets, Eventrise Checkout (inline), Eventrise Events and Eventrise Events Grid. They have the same options as the blocks and show the same thing. You can also keep using any Elementor Button widget: link it to your event page and a click opens the checkout popup (see the next question).
The Eventrise Buy Tickets widget does it for you. To use Elementor's own Button widget instead, set its link to your event page (https://eventrise.com/{organization}/{event}) or to its checkout link (https://checkout.eventrise.com/checkout/{event}). With Open event page links in the checkout popup turned on in Settings → Eventrise, a click opens the checkout popup on your page. A checkout link opens the popup while Auto-link conversion is on. If you set the link to open in a new window, it skips the popup and opens the page in a new tab. The same works for buttons and links in any other page builder or menu.
Yes. Shortcodes work in any page builder that supports them. Auto-link works everywhere: add a normal link to checkout.eventrise.com/checkout/{event-slug} and it'll open in a popup.
Keep Send checkout events to Google Tag Manager turned on in Settings → Eventrise (it is on by default). Each completed order adds this to the dataLayer, once per order: { event: "eventrise_purchase", transaction_id: "{order id}", value: 42.5, currency: "USD", event_slug: "{event}" } In Tag Manager, make a Custom Event trigger for eventrise_purchase and use it for your conversion tags, reading the value and currency from Data Layer Variables. Opening the popup adds eventrise_checkout_open. The plugin never loads Tag Manager itself: without it on your site, nothing is sent. Sales in the inline embed are reported the same way.
Yes. On the Get Tickets Button block, open Checkout presets in the sidebar and enter a promo code, a ticket ID and a quantity. With the shortcode: [eventrise_button event="summer-fest" label="Get 4 tickets" promo="GROUP4" ticket="{ticket-id}" quantity="4"]. Checkout opens with the code applied and the tickets selected, and the buyer still confirms them. On a link you write yourself, add data-eventrise-checkout="{event}" and any of data-eventrise-promo, data-eventrise-ticket, data-eventrise-quantity and data-eventrise-ref.
