Log in to your GTMFunnels account, go to My Account → API Keys, and create a key with funnels:read, chat:read, and chat:write scopes.

Yes. Use the shortcode [gtmfunnels_chat funnel_code="YOUR_FUNNEL_CODE"] on individual pages or posts. When a shortcode is present, the global floating widget is suppressed for that page.

Yes. Funnel lists and embed codes are cached as WordPress transients for 5 minutes. The cache is flushed automatically when you save new settings or click the Refresh button on the My Funnels page.

The API key is encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before it is saved to the database, and it is never printed in the settings page. The encryption secret comes from your site's WordPress security keys (the AUTH_KEY and AUTH_SALT values in wp-config.php). Things to know: If the security keys in wp-config.php are changed (for example after a site migration or a security clean-up), the saved key can no longer be read. A notice appears in the admin area; re-enter the key in GTMFunnels > Settings. If your wp-config.php still has the default "put your unique phrase here" security keys, or no keys at all, WordPress keeps its fallback keys in the database, so the encryption adds little protection against a database leak. Generate real keys at https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/ and paste them into wp-config.php. Advanced: add define( 'GTMFUNNELS_ENCRYPTION_KEY', 'a-long-random-secret' ); to wp-config.php to use your own secret instead. Changing it later also requires re-entering the API key. You can avoid storing the key in the database entirely by defining GTMFUNNELS_API_KEY in wp-config.php.

The shortcode only displays a chatbot when the page or post was written by an administrator. This stops other roles from triggering API requests with your key. Developers can change the required capability with the gtmfunnels_shortcode_capability filter.
