Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Lift External Link Notice

No. This is a standalone WordPress plugin and works without Elementor.

No. The notice modal is built into the plugin and configured from a normal WordPress settings page.

No. Same-domain links are ignored. You can also whitelist trusted external domains or full URLs.

The notice handles normal link clicks and keyboard activation when JavaScript is enabled. Internal links, trusted entries, downloads, and non-web protocols are skipped. Browser actions such as middle-click, context-menu opening, directly entering a URL, and navigation by other scripts are outside this click handler. This plugin does not guarantee legal or regulatory compliance.

With subdomain trust enabled, only descendants of the configured site host are trusted, ignoring its leading www prefix. For example, a site at tenant.example.com trusts child.tenant.example.com, but sibling.example.com needs an explicit whitelist entry. Full URL entries also match the scheme and port.

No. The plugin does not send visitor data to external services and does not track visitors.
