Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about MobileRank - Mobile Performance Diagnostics
No. MobileRank only runs in the WordPress admin dashboard. It doesn't add any code, scripts, or styles to your frontend. Visitors to your site are completely unaffected.
No. Three features work instantly with zero configuration: Image Audit, Mobile Readiness Checklist, and Content Scanner. These scan your site entirely on your server. For the full Google PageSpeed scan, an API key is recommended for reliable results. The key is free and takes 2 minutes to set up.
PageSpeed Insights gives you raw technical data. MobileRank translates that into visual, actionable results with plain-English explanations and copy-paste fixes. It also tracks your scores over time and scans multiple pages at once.
No. MobileRank works alongside your existing performance stack (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, etc.). Your caching plugin handles delivery optimization. MobileRank handles mobile responsiveness and usability issues that caching can't fix.
No. SEO plugins handle meta tags, sitemaps, schema markup, and keyword optimization. MobileRank handles mobile performance and usability — the things Google's mobile-first indexing actually measures. They complement each other.
Core Web Vitals are Google's metrics for measuring real-world user experience: LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) measures loading speed, CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) measures visual stability, and INP (Interaction to Next Paint) measures responsiveness. MobileRank tracks all three for every scanned page.
The Quick Fixes are safe, low-risk CSS adjustments injected via your site's head. They don't modify any theme files or database content. Each fix can be reverted with one click from the dashboard.
The Google PageSpeed Insights API has rate limits, and each page scan takes several seconds. 10 pages covers the most important pages on most small-to-medium sites (homepage, key landing pages, popular posts).
Yes. MobileRank is a diagnostic tool that works with any WordPress theme. The fix suggestions are universal CSS/HTML/PHP solutions that apply regardless of your theme.
It scans your entire media library for images missing alt text (hurts SEO and accessibility), images over 500KB (slows mobile loading), images not in WebP or AVIF format (larger file sizes), and images in your content missing width and height attributes (causes layout shift).
