Every ability starts off in every profile, Full Access included. Switch it on under Access, then restart your assistant. Abilities need WordPress 6.9 or later.

WordPress checks the request against what the ability accepts, then asks the ability whether the signed-in user may use it. Checking which records that user may touch is up to the plugin that registered the ability.

No. Claude and ChatGPT identify themselves with a metadata document they publish, so you paste the address and sign in. Issuing your own credentials is still supported for clients that need it.

A firewall, CDN or security rule on your host may be turning AI clients away before they reach WordPress. Run Test Connection: its outside check requests your site the way AI assistants do and names what is blocking them. Ask your host to allow these addresses for all visitors: /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server, /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, /wp-json/mountdev-ai-mcp-connector/ and /mcp-token.

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside tools and data. This plugin makes your WordPress site one of those tools.
