You will need business registration, PAN, and bank details. Approval typically takes a few business days. Khalti: register as a merchant at khalti.com with business registration, PAN, and bank details; the secret key is in your merchant dashboard under Settings → Keys. ConnectIPS: a creditor merchant agreement with Nepal Clearing House Ltd (NCHL), usually arranged through your bank. NCHL issues your Merchant ID, App credentials, and the CREDITOR.pfx signing certificate. This onboarding can take a few weeks. Cards via NIC Asia: e-commerce merchant onboarding with NIC Asia Bank, which provisions Cybersource Secure Acceptance credentials (Profile ID, Access Key, Secret Key). This also commonly takes a few weeks.

Yes — the gateways only appear at checkout when the store currency is NPR. The card gateway can optionally also accept USD if your NIC Asia merchant agreement covers it.

No, never. All four gateways redirect the customer to the provider's own hosted payment page. Your site only receives a payment confirmation, which the plugin additionally verifies server-to-server before marking the order paid.

Yes. Every gateway has a sandbox mode with its own credential fields where applicable. eSewa and Khalti publish public test credentials; NCHL and NIC Asia provide test credentials during onboarding.

Process refunds in the provider's own dashboard (eSewa merchant panel, Khalti merchant dashboard, NCHL creditor portal, or Cybersource Business Center). The WooCommerce order screen shows the transaction reference you need and links to the right dashboard.
