Common questions about OXP Breaking News Ticker
No. Everything is configured from the WordPress admin: content, behavior, colors, and typography. Place the ticker anywhere using the Gutenberg block or the generated shortcode. No PHP, no CSS.
Two ways in the free plan. In the block editor, add the "Breaking News Ticker" block and choose one of your saved tickers from the selector; the block previews it on the canvas. Anywhere else (classic editor, text widgets, page builders) paste the shortcode shown in the ticker list, e.g. [oxpbnt_ticker id="123"]. Premium adds a native Elementor widget and a native Oxygen Builder element.
Yes. Each ticker is an independent preset. The free plan supports up to 3 tickers with 20 items each. Premium removes both limits.
Every Premium plan unlocks exactly the same features: unlimited tickers and items, the Premium themes, palettes and movements, dynamic WP Query items, item scheduling, the label icons, the Elementor and Oxygen Builder integrations and the advanced link and display options. The plans differ only in how many sites one license can be activated on, and for how long you receive updates and support. You can see them, and activate a license you already own, under "OXP Tickers" in your WordPress admin.
The key goes in the Premium version, which you download from your Freemius account. In this free version, "OXP Tickers" > Settings has an "I already have a license" button that walks you through it step by step. Once the Premium version is installed it opens straight into the plugin and reminds you to add your key: go to Settings and press "Activate license". To move a license to another site, use the Account screen. Your license is also what delivers automatic updates of the Premium version: new versions arrive in the Plugins screen like any other update.
You can type them in manually (title + URL) or use the "Load from posts" picker to pull content from any post type, filtered by taxonomy, terms, or keyword. Loaded items are frozen as snapshots, so they do not update on their own.
No. By default the plugin only loads its CSS and JS on pages that actually contain a ticker. You can switch to global loading from Settings if you prefer.
Yes. When you save a ticker with a Google Font selected, the plugin downloads that font variant to your server. Visitors' browsers load the font from your own domain, and no request is ever made to Google at runtime.
Yes. Copy templates/ticker.php from the plugin into your active theme's root and WordPress will use your copy instead.
