Common questions about PanMap

No. PanMap uses Google's keyless map embeds rather than the Maps Embed API, so there is nothing to sign up for and no billing account to configure.

On the PanMap screen, you can: type a place name or address, enter coordinates such as 28.6129, 77.2295, paste a link from Google Maps - either the full link from your browser's address bar or a "Share" link, or paste the code from Google Maps' Share > Embed a map to use that exact map. Press Find to preview it, then copy the shortcode.

No. Until the map scrolls into view, the placeholder is drawn entirely with files served from your own site. A visitor whose browser has JavaScript disabled gets the same behavior: the map is embedded directly, using the browser's native lazy-loading, so it still only loads once it scrolls into view. PanMap works anywhere WordPress shortcodes are supported, including maps that a page builder or Ajax adds to the page after it first loads.

Inside the plugin. The src folder holds the uncompiled JavaScript and Sass that build/index.js and build/frontend.js are compiled from, and package.json and gulpfile.js hold the build steps. See Source code below.

PanMap stores two settings in your database: your site-wide defaults and your saved maps. Deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen removes both, and nothing else is left behind. It never creates custom database tables.
