Yes, if the toggle is enabled (it is by default). A "Type your signature instead" link switches the pad to a text field; whatever the visitor types is rendered in a cursive font on the same pad and submitted the same way as a hand-drawn signature. You can disable this per field with the allowtype:0 option, or site-wide from Signature Settings.

Not by default - signatures are deleted from the server right after the notification email is sent. You can turn on permanent storage (Media Library) from the Signature Settings page if you need a lasting, searchable record; review your privacy policy / GDPR obligations before doing so.

An optional stamp - a small text strip reading something like "Signed 2026-08-14 14:32 UTC from 203.0.113.5" - burned onto the bottom of the signature image itself. It's off by default and can be turned on from the Signature Settings page; it requires the GD image library, which is present on virtually all WordPress hosts.
