Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Rapls Sitemap – HTML Sitemap & Post List

No. It builds the HTML page your visitors read. WordPress's wp-sitemap.xml, and any XML sitemap an SEO plugin produces, are left untouched.
Activate this plugin and deactivate the old one. Under Advanced → Coming from another plugin, switch on the option for the plugin you left. Your existing sitemap page keeps working as it is. From PS Auto Sitemap, also use Import from PS Auto Sitemap to bring its settings across. The design becomes the nearest preset, so check the page afterwards.
Yes: post types, depth, one branch, a date range, and exclusions by post, category, user, post type, taxonomy, password or noindex. Ordering, dates, excerpts and design are settings too.
Yes. It is fully translated, and WordPress.org delivers the translation as a language pack when your site runs in Japanese.
Yes. Use the Sitemap block in the block editor, or the [rapls_sitemap] shortcode anywhere shortcodes run, including the classic editor.
Yes. Tick the sections you need and they appear in order under their own headings: [rapls_sitemap sections="page, post, category, author, archive"]
Yes. Choose A navigation menu as the source, or menu="global-nav" in a shortcode. It keeps the menu's own order and labels. Several fit in one sitemap: sections="menu:global-nav,menu:footer-nav".
Yes. Give Limit to one branch a page ID. In a shortcode, child_of="current" means the page it sits on and child_of="parent" the page above, so one template works everywhere.
Yes. Set date_after and date_before as YYYY, YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD. Both ends are inclusive and either can stand alone; a date that does not exist is read as no limit.
Yes. Every query has a cap, 2000 by default, so a large site cannot exhaust memory. A list that stops short always says so.
