No. The free version works locally with your own OpenAI or Gemini API key.

On WordPress 7.0 or later, add it in Settings > Connectors. SupportZiip reads the key from there and does not store it. You can also define OPENAI_API_KEY or GOOGLE_API_KEY in wp-config.php or as a server environment variable. On older WordPress versions, save the key in SupportZiip > Settings.

On WordPress 7.0 or later, SupportZiip moves the saved key into Settings > Connectors the first time an administrator opens wp-admin, and removes its own copy only after the move is confirmed. If the move cannot be confirmed, a notice asks you to add the key in Settings > Connectors.

Yes. Administrators can configure a local monthly AI message limit, a per-session hourly limit, and a maximum visitor message length.

Yes, when an assistant is used. Visitor messages and relevant assistant context are sent to the configured AI provider so a response can be generated. Administrators should disclose this in their privacy policy.

Yes. Conversation logs are stored locally in the WordPress database. Administrators can export logs, delete logs, or configure retention cleanup.

Yes. The Settings screen includes a data-removal option. It is off by default to prevent accidental data loss.
