Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Thisismyurl Dashboard Notice Control

Yes. It is designed to hide all admin notices, including update nags.

No. It only runs in wp-admin.

It can interfere with plugins that rely on visible notices for workflow guidance. Test in staging before production rollout.

Some plugins store a "dismissed" state only after the dismiss button is clicked. Auto-dismiss helps keep those plugins in a consistent state.

Yes. Notice suppression is the plugin's job and it is on from activation, with no setup step. If you want it off, uncheck the switch at Settings > Thisismyurl Dashboard Notice Control.

No, and this is the switch people mix up with the one above. Suppression is on from activation; auto-dismiss is a separate feature that stays off until you turn it on with THISISMYURL_DASHBOARD_NOTICE_CONTROL_AUTO_DISMISS or the matching filter. Leaving auto-dismiss off does not stop notices being hidden.

Suppression stops the notice from appearing at all, by removing the callback before it runs. Auto-dismiss deals with the notices that carry a dismiss button, by clicking it for you so the plugin that owns the notice records it as seen and stops raising it again. Suppression is about what you see; auto-dismiss is about what the other plugin remembers.
