Fonts are downloaded to /wp-content/uploads/google-fonts/ and organized by font family name. The plugin automatically creates this directory with proper permissions and security files (.htaccess, index.php).

Not in the current version. This plugin only works with Google Fonts (either self-hosted or from CDN). For custom fonts, consider using a CSS @font-face declaration in your theme.
