Anyone who needs reliable WordPress backups and a simple migration path — bloggers, freelancers, small businesses, and developers preparing staging copies.

No. You can create backups and run migrations from the admin and the standalone installer without writing code.

Some Pro modules are omitted from the WordPress.org ZIP (restore from admin, encryption, verify/lock, retention, roles, delta create, remote storage, WP-CLI, and similar). Preview screens may advertise those upgrades. Everything else that ships in Basic — including email, exclude paths, backup labels, and full scheduling — works without Pro.

No. Only one edition can be active. Deactivate Pro before activating Basic (or the other way around).

Basic shows non-functional preview screens for omitted Pro modules (Restore, Roles, Encryption, Retention, remote storage, and similar). They advertise what Pro includes and link to upgrade — they do not run Pro code. Free backup, schedule, tools, and migration features work without Pro.

No. The WordPress.org Basic package does not validate license keys and does not contact a commercial license or update server. Updates for this edition come through WordPress.org.

By default under wp-content/uploads/uxpack-backups. You can change the path under Settings → Storage, but it must stay under the WordPress uploads directory (or the legacy wp-content/uxpack-backups folder if you already used that). Keep that directory backed up; direct web access is blocked by default.

assets/installer.css and assets/installer.js are the human-readable source files shipped in this plugin. They are not minified or generated by a build step. There is no npm/webpack pipeline for them — edit those files directly. They are embedded only into the offline standalone migration installer document (which runs before WordPress exists on the destination), not loaded as wp-admin assets.

Yes. Create a full backup, download the archive and installer, place them on the destination server, and run the installer. The installer includes environment checks and URL migration helpers.

Yes. Basic supports daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, with up to 10 named schedules.
