No. ACF is optional. Install and activate Advanced Custom Fields only if you want to show your own custom fields on a slide. The ACF Integration panel appears once you have a field group whose location rules target the post type your slider is querying.

As many as you like — there is no limit on how many fields a slide can show. Fields you assign to the slide image, title, description, or button under Use ACF For are a separate setting and are shown on top of the ones you pick.

These are only needed for the Social & External Feeds source, which is a Pro feature. Both credentials are made outside WordPress, so there is a video for each.
