Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Promptwatch

Yes. This plugin is a connector for the Promptwatch service and does nothing on its own.
No. Publishing uses a sync token you generate in the plugin. An API key is only needed if you enable AI-crawler logs.
Yes. Your site never keeps a readable copy of the sync token, and the token is never shown again after you generate it. The optional crawler-logs API key is stored encrypted.
No. Each Promptwatch document maps to a single post. Re-publishing updates the same post.
Yes. Promptwatch can push a document as a WordPress draft first, so your team can review it in wp-admin. Publishing it live later changes only that post's status; it never touches the rest of your site.
Yes. Pick categories and an author in the WordPress connection settings in Promptwatch. Leave categories empty to keep the post's existing categories. The author is matched against your WordPress users; if nothing matches, new posts fall back to the first administrator, and updates keep the post's current author. Details are in the WordPress guide.
Yes. For headless setups, where WordPress lives at for example cms.example.com but your site is example.com, Promptwatch publishes through the CMS host and tracks the content on your website. See the WordPress guide for how to set the content path.
Generate a new token in Settings → Promptwatch and paste it into the reconnect dialog in Promptwatch. Tokens become invalid when you regenerate them or when your site's WordPress security keys change. Reconnecting keeps your publish history.
Uninstalling removes everything the plugin stored: its settings and its background data. Posts published from Promptwatch stay on your site as normal posts.
