Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Sawir Media Folders

FileBird, HappyFiles, and Real Media Library are mature folder plugins with polished extras, and their free tiers typically cap how many folders you can create. Sawir Media Folders keeps the scope narrow — virtual folders, drag & drop, fast filtering — with no caps and no paid tier. Folders are a taxonomy, so files never physically move and no URL ever breaks. If you need extras like per-user folders or gallery integrations, the premium options earn their price; if you just need the library organized, this stays free and fast.

No. Folders are purely organizational (a hidden taxonomy on attachments). Files stay exactly where WordPress uploaded them.

Nothing breaks. Your files are untouched; folder assignments simply stop being displayed. Reactivate and they're back.

There is no paid version. Everything is free and unlimited.
